Use Your Car’s Parking Brake

The parking brake keeps your car exactly where you parked it. The benefits of this include:

• Increased safety because your car won’t roll. Your safety margin increases particularly in tight parking spaces or if you must get out of the car very quickly after you park.
• Peace of mind. Without the parking brake, your car will roll slightly after putting it in park and lifting your foot off the brake. With the parking brake, you have guaranteed peace of mind that the car isn’t rolling for some other, bad reason, e.g. the brakes failed or you forgot to put it in park.
